Mac/Linux versions are a higher priority than iOS/Switch. Different iOS devices are also fully cross-save, and will still transfer fine to PC and Switch. I played vanilla for two years before adding mods. So Im a long time civ player and I played a crap ton of the vanilla civ 6, and passed on rise and fall and gathering storm when they came out because I didnt really have the time/money/interest. I've played one game and found 3 particularly irritating / game crashing bugs. I wanted to try the multiplatform cloud saves so I could alternate from the Switch to PC. Ever since I got to college I have not been able to play Civilization as much as I did until Civilization 6 came out on the Switch. I picked up Civ 6 for the switch about a month ago. Personally, as cool as I think it is, the only reason I will be getting the game is to play with said friends. Anyone buy both then decide it wasn't worth it ? I play on both switch and PC so I have both perspectives; switch is generally slower but seems to crash a lot less, there are also less deals to buy dlc's on switch (got every dlc, civ and the game for 30 USD during a sale on PC while switch is full price). That aside, the different editions of this game, and the DLC, seem kind of confusing. You do not need any DLC to enjoy base Civ 6, which is the release that helped it become very popular in the first place. It's been pretty good so far, but I'm having an issue with the world congress where it doesnt actually show any info, just the code for it. I haven't had any problems with it. Switch is noticeably slower but I still enjoy having it portable on hand compared to mobile. I don’t play on switch anymore, but I enjoyed it. If you go to the eshop Civ 6 page, you should find the DLC. I did eventually purchase Civ 6 Anthology for all of $24, which includes every single DLC released. Civ4 base game is a very solid game that built off of Civ3 + Expansions Civ 6 didn't include every single aspect from Civ 5 but introduced so many new mechanics and overhauled the core gameplay that it didn't feel lacking. 99, I can confirm that there is no voice overs for the leaders in the cutscenes and they are indeed static vs animated. I imagine the same would be true if you were bouncing between playing Civ and another game, the load times would feel really frustrating. I'm honestly terrible at Civ but I always end up trying the newest game anyway, hoping I'll crack it. After having put about 40 hrs or so into Civ6, I would recommend keeping the difficulty turned way down until you understand the systems better. I've never played more than 6 person map and it runs fine. It's awesome to have such a great game compact and on the go. And also of UrsaRyan's slow evolution as an artist. Before civ on switch the there was civ Rev. A year or so back I saw a lot of posts about the game crashing on switch when people had all the dlc stuff. A few days ago I downloaded a new update and since then, the crashes are pretty consistent every 5-10 turns, even early in the game on small maps. Civ 6 runs fine for the most part on PS5 and that’s with all DLC. . I'm thinking about purchasing Civ 6 and the (available on console) DLCs since they're on sale at the moment… Bought a switch lite just to play civ on my daily commute. I just civ 6 on the switch, it's digital and the platinum version so I got both expansions. But now that I have a switch lite I'd like to pick up civ 6 as i can now bring it with me. I'll be getting a new PC soon and want to play it on there as well but don't necessarily want to have different matches going on at the same time. It's fine for the early game but once you have like 15+ units to manage, each turn takes forever to move all your units, and the loading time between turns also increases massively. But the switch is good enough. 2 on vita which really wasn't a real civ game, more like a combat focused small tier civ faster progression system, and cut down. For context, I got civ 6 for free via the epic games store about 3 years ago during COVID. Haven't gone back since. I recommend watching a couple of civ 6 buyers guide on YouTube. The DLC Anthology is currently sale on the Nintendo eshop, but I've seen a lot of posts on how the DLC release a few months ago made the game unplayable on the switch. Which version of the game should I get? It's on sale right now. This will only download the main game without any dlc and then you can manually redownload each dlc. Everything else feels intuitive. Just bought Civ VI Anthology Upgrade for Switch, which should include all DLC but the Red Death, yet I noticed it doesn't include the Catherine de Medici (Magnificence) alternate persona, which the Anthology edition does for Switch. I’m not sure if everyone agrees but I’ve always felt that the base game is the worst version of civ relative to what it becomes after the DLC iterations.
